JM Trebilor

feels humbly fortunate to have dwelled for more than
half a lifetime on Kaurna land,
truly deeply appreciative of the
beautiful beaches, unrelenting rivers,
resilient soils, expansive trees exuding healing
oils and life-giving oxygen,
strident sunlight, clean air and sparkling waters
taken care of so wisely for so very long by the Kaurna people.
Grateful too to hunker down in a funny little city only an eyeblink old, with a sweet facade and a truly nasty underbelly - esoterically the heart chakra of Australia, and in Aboriginal lore realm of the Big Red kangaroo, gathering place
and meeting hub of the continent.
JM's time is mostly filled with listening deeply to people who have experienced abuse, violence, stigma, marginalisation, incarceration and the impacts of being Aboriginal on this continent, as well as supporting a new young human to step into this weird wild world and crafting words in an effort to wrest some kind of sense and balance from it all.
JMT reluctantly submits to the following designations (since we 21st century humans are so fukken obsessed with demarkations): residence Earth, genus Homo, species Sapiens, skin group White, natively Anglophone but not Anglosaxon, post-monolingual, biophysically Neurodiverse, and possessed of a specified gender but choosing not to disclose it. Please note that none of these are within my choice or control, apart from learning languages
JM Trebilor is a pseudonym, but everything else on this website is true **

what people reckon
"Saucy, smart and surprising. Each new piece is one to look out for."
"So human and raw and real but also so skilfully structured and threaded" (reader)
"Fierce and a little wild, but also obsessively honed.
Irreverent and forthright but also tender and wise.
This work is deeply considered, and asks the same of us." *
“It is nuanced, and dynamic, and reveals more each time you read it. It is in my view just the right amount of serious and earnest. This is important, courageous, and meaningful writing about important, courageous, and meaningful themes.” (reader)
"So powerful, and so many important perspectives that I wish were talked about in the mainstream. Oh my goodness, I have tears!!!!!!!!!!!" (reader)
